THE THREE MISTAKES
- Overexplaining. The instinct to justify every number, and what it costs you in a room that has already decided how much benefit of the doubt you get.
- Being too transparent about the numbers instead of aggressively selling the upside. What belongs in the deck, what belongs in the appendix, and what belongs in the answer to a question nobody asked yet.
- Not nailing what the money is for: the hires, what each unlock does to the trajectory, and exactly why this business has an edge and why it's hard — all while making it clear the business is doing great and you don't need their money.
